I, too, am in transition. I am currently wrapping up a corporate video assignment here in DC and looking for the next best opportunity. Also, I am looking forward to meeting the kindred spirits in this area. Although I am from Michigan, my work has had me in this area off and on for the last 8-9 months. There has been little time to network, so this conference comes at an ideal time.

I, too, am an independent producer looking at this wonderful world of on-line/social media. I am currently in transition from more traditional programming to broadband. Read "in transition." I have so much to learn and always doing it on the fly. It's going to be great at this conference to stop, take a breath, and look at this picture, if only for a day.
Cristina mentioned online strategies. This is highly relevant to me because I'm am starting development and research on several projects -- as I finish up a one-hour documentary for PBS -- and I want to think about story and format design, webisodes as demos, webisodes as end products, as we raise money. Looking forward to meeting you all.

Glad to see your comment Eric, which is causing me to introduce myself too. I am really looking forward to this day and meeting you all specifically.

I am an independent producer, video and new media, and have transitioned from more traditional programming to broadband. I have ideas for projects that I want to pursue and collaborate with others and also work with clients in producing their programs.

Looks like some great discussion topics and a diverse group of media makers. "Thus Spoke The Spectacle" is part rock show, part online video project, so naturally we're interested in online distribution strategies. As a media critique project, we've made extensive use of CSM's "Best Practices in Fair Use" documents, so I'll be very interested in discussing fair use during the lunch as well. See you all in a few days.

I'm particularly interested in online strategies and emerging technologies. Looking forward to meeting all of you next week.
